SW4STM32 and SW4Linux fully supports the STM32MP1 asymmetric multicore Cortex/A7+M4 MPUs

With System Workbench for Linux, Embedded Linux on the STM32MP1 family of MPUs from ST was never as simple to build and maintain, even for newcomers in the Linux world. And, if you install System Workbench for Linux in System Workbench for STM32 you can seamlessly develop and debug asymmetric applications running partly on Linux, partly on the Cortex-M4.
You can get more information from the ac6-tools website and download (registration required) various documents highlighting:

Generating Makefiles Takes Too Long

I’m using System Workbench for STM32 version 2.1.0.201707031232.

When building a project that has many source folders, a makefile is generated for each source folder. This process is very time consuming, and occurs even when no source files have been touched.

I believe the makefiles only need to be generated after the project settings have changed, not before every build.

Is there any way to optimize this?

The project was generated with STM32CubeMX.

Thanks,
Jonathan

Any news about this issue? In my project “Generating makefiles” takes about 33 seconds even if nothing has changed.
This is really annoying!

Bump...
I also think this issue should be fixed, it is really annoying to have to wait for makefile generation on every single build even though nothing has changed that would require makefiles to be rebuilt.
It is quite the unnecessary time suck.

I’ll add another “me too”. I think this is very annoying, and I waste lots of time on waiting for this every day.
