SW4STM32 and SW4Linux fully supports the STM32MP1 asymmetric multicore Cortex/A7+M4 MPUs

   With System Workbench for Linux, Embedded Linux on the STM32MP1 family of MPUs from ST was never as simple to build and maintain, even for newcomers in the Linux world. And, if you install System Workbench for Linux in System Workbench for STM32 you can seamlessly develop and debug asymmetric applications running partly on Linux, partly on the Cortex-M4.
You can get more information from the ac6-tools website and download (registration required) various documents highlighting:

system workbench (eclipse) doesn't install the updates about itself on os x

Hi everybody,

I installed the system workbench on my mac. When I try to install updates from “System Workbench for STM32 - Updates - http://www.ac6-tools.com/Eclipse-updates/org.openstm32.system-workbench.site/"Question section and click the next and accept licence agreement, downloading starting and a few seconds i get this error;

“An error occurred while installing the items
session context was:(profile=epp.package.cpp, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Install, operand=Rfr.ac6.mcu.ide 1.14.0.201703061527 --> Rfr.ac6.mcu.ide 1.15.0.201705101219, action=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.touchpoint.natives.actions.ChmodAction).
Could not initialize class java.lang.UNIXProcess
Could not initialize class java.lang.UNIXProcess”

Do you have any idea what it is ?

Hi Mokanbugdayci,

Just did the same update here, from 1.14 to 1.15, and all worked like a charm.
Note that I’m running java 1.7 on my Mac, and looking your error “Could not initialize class java.lang.UNIXProcess” the JRE version might be the cause.

$ /usr/libexec/java_home
/Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk1.7.0_79.jdk/Contents/Home

What version of Java is installed in your environment?

EDIT:
Anyway to complete the answer 1.15 is not the latest version, hence I would strongly advice anyone to switch to 2.0 by (re)installing System Workbench through the all-in-one installer for 2 reasons:

  1. it comes with its own JRE, so no problems with Java version anymore
  2. it contains an important Eclipse update (Neon), required by some 2.0 features

Hi jLn_38,
Sorry for my late asnwer. I did what you recommended to me. First I checked my java version and it’s latest one ( 1.8.0_131-b11). After than, I unistalled the old version of system workbench and install the v2.0. Again I try to install the on eclipse (from “Help->Install New Software...” section) but still I get error. I attached the screen shots about the error.

That’s so weird.. I successfully updated to latest version on my Mac either from within Eclipse-Mars or Eclipse-Neon.

Could you post your workspace log file and configuration content in order to deeper investigate?

  1. WORKSPACE_LOC/.metadata/.log
  2. Help > Installation Details > Configuration tab > Copy to Clipboard
