SW4STM32 and SW4Linux fully supports the STM32MP1 asymmetric multicore Cortex/A7+M4 MPUs

With System Workbench for Linux, Embedded Linux on the STM32MP1 family of MPUs from ST was never as simple to build and maintain, even for newcomers in the Linux world. And, if you install System Workbench for Linux in System Workbench for STM32 you can seamlessly develop and debug asymmetric applications running partly on Linux, partly on the Cortex-M4.

This release provides the following improvements:

  • Updated JRE to version 1.8.0_151
  • Parallel build compile option set by default at project creation level
  • Automated startup file generation: adding interrupt handlers definition for peripherals
  • Add support for core peripheral registers SCB, STK, MPU, FPU for the following series : H7, L4+

This release provides the following fixes:

  • Fixed STM32F407G-DISC1 board status (change from obsolete to active)
  • Fixed random #undef warnings displayed into Problem view
  • On “Release” configuration the assembler must not generated debugging information by default.

WARNING :

  • Installers need at least 600Mo free space on the installation volume
  • The new CDT Debug Console, that offers a powerful GDB console, is not supported yet.
  • In some Linux environments the Welcome screen rendering could appear messy (empty page, missing icons). This is generally caused by an unresolved WebKit1 library required

by SWT for GTK2. To restore this display issue it is advised to install the following package: $ sudo apt-get install libwebkitgtk-1.0-0

  • On Ubuntu, version 14.04 is now required to run System Workbench for STM32
  • For MAC OSX Users : Due to missing path to JRE, some users could not launch the installer. This issue is now fixed. For users who have installed the Oracle Java JDK, the old/new installers are still working.
