Ubuntu 15.04 vivid install bare metal Eclipse fails?

java version “1.7.0_95”
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea 2.6.4) (7u95-2.6.4-0ubuntu0.15.04.1)
OpenJDK Server VM (build 24.95-b01, mixed mode)

Been using Eclipse for desktop dev, tried to follow wiki. Eclipse bare metal install says:

“The operation cannot be completed”

Details:
Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
Software being installed: OpenSTM32 Remote debugging support 1.9.0.201605241146 (fr.ac6.feature.mcu.debug.feature.group 1.9.0.201605241146)
Missing requirement: Ac6 C/C++ Debugging Tools for MCU 1.9.0.201605241146 (fr.ac6.mcu.debug 1.9.0.201605241146) requires ‘bundle org.eclipse.cdt.debug.gdbjtag.core 8.1.0’ but it could not be found
Cannot satisfy dependency:
From: OpenSTM32 Remote debugging support 1.9.0.201605241146 (fr.ac6.feature.mcu.debug.feature.group 1.9.0.201605241146)
To: fr.ac6.mcu.debug 1.9.0.201605241146

Any nerd out there who knows how to fix this please respond.

Hi,

Do you use the latest version of Eclipse (NEON) ? If my guess is right, System Workbench for STM32 is not compatible yet due to dependencies missing with features removed from Eclipse NEON. The issue has been reported and an update will be published as soon as possible.

If you don’t want to wait the next update, the only solution is to download the older version of Eclipse (MARS) then install the System Workbench plugins.
