Standard Peripheral Library

Hi Folks,

i am very new to this stuff. My Problem is,
after installing System Workbench and trying to make a
new Project, like it is explained in the first steps tutorial,
the Tutorial says: chosse Standard Peripheral Library under Project Firmwae configuration.

My Problem is, it is gray and i only can choose No Frimware or Cube HAL.

Why is that ? Has anyone an idea what i have to fix that i can choose
StdPeriph ???

Hello Snegeli,

For recent series like F7 or L4, there are no Standard Peripheral Libraries, but only Cube HAL libraries. So you cannot choose Standard Peripheral Libraries. The other steps in the tutorial don’t depend on this choice.

And what is the difference between these two options?

is the Cube HAL made for easier implementation of third party tools like freeRTOS and SrdPeriph is the way to go when u only want to use easy funktions like timer, UART, etc.?

And if i also only can use the Cube HAL option, but dont want to use third party tools, then this is the right way to get the “stm32xxxx.c”, right?
