SW4STM32 and SW4Linux fully supports the STM32MP1 asymmetric multicore Cortex/A7+M4 MPUs

   With System Workbench for Linux, Embedded Linux on the STM32MP1 family of MPUs from ST was never as simple to build and maintain, even for newcomers in the Linux world. And, if you install System Workbench for Linux in System Workbench for STM32 you can seamlessly develop and debug asymmetric applications running partly on Linux, partly on the Cortex-M4.
You can get more information from the ac6-tools website and download (registration required) various documents highlighting:

HAL_GetTick() and xTaskGetTickCount()

I am using a STM32CubeMX version 4.12.0 generated files with the FREERTOS option enabled.

I cannot find any information about HAL_GetTick() in the doxygen generated documentation. A search for this in this documentation’s Main Page’s search function does not get any hits. Also, I cannot find a definition for this function in the generated code. I can only find its declaration in stm32f3xx_hal.h. And so this leaves some questions unanswered about it.

What is its unit of time?

Why can’t I find its source code?

How similar is HAL_GetTick() to the FREERTOS function xTaskGetTickCount()? Under which circumstances would it be appropriate to use each of them?

I made some changes to doxygen configuration and was able look up the source code and documentation for HAL_GetTick() in file stm32f3xx_hal.c. There I found the default unit of time is the millisecond.

I do not know what change in the doxygen configuration made HAL_GetTick() available to be looked there.
