The Linux version is currently in beta; it should be generally available before the end of February.
If you wish to participate at the beta phase, just request the beta tester status (the link is available on the installer download page) and you will be granted access to the beta Linux version.

Yes we are planning to add Linux support to STM32CubeMX.

Linux support should hopefully be ready in the first half of 2015.

Hi folks,
Just to add a note about STM32CubeMX (which I prefer to call MX because I hate typing long names 😉 ). It can run standalone on Linux as well as can the installer. To do this just type

java -jar /path/to/SetupSTM32CubeMX-4.7.1.exe

to install the latest version unzipped from stm32cubemx.zip. (Must be run as root) Once installed MX can be run using the command

java -jar /usr/local/STMicroelectronics/STM32Cube/STM32CubeMX/STM32CubeMX.exe

And if that's too long to type either define an appropriate alias or do something like:

hbarta@yggdrasil ~ $ cat bin/MX
java -jar /usr/local/STMicroelectronics/STM32Cube/STM32CubeMX/STM32CubeMX.exe
hbarta@yggdrasil ~ $

It's pretty obvoious to me that the folks who wrote MX took the time to put Linux support into it even though it is not well advertised. (Thanks!)

I'm following your suggestion. All seems to be fine, but when I'm opening the GPIO-Configuration Dialog I got a java Runtime Exeption and the Dialog Window is not complete. I did the things on Ubuntu 14.04

It follows the the bash output. Any ideas?

I see the same problem with MX 4.10 and Ubuntu 14.04, I've tried different java versions .. 1.7, 1.8, early access 1.8.0_66-ea all have the same problem with the GPIO dialog box.

I'm looking forward to an official build/plugin set for linux as well, although the beta seems to be running smoothly.

I'm writing firmware for some STM32L152RE dev boards paired with my custom board, and I can program and debug from within Linux. I really appreciate the open source work that AC6 is doing for this relatively small field, and at the same time I'm looking forward to an official build/plugin.
