And, if you install System Workbench for Linux in System Workbench for STM32 you can seamlessly develop and debug asymmetric applications running partly on Linux, partly on the Cortex-M4.

some possible things to try

If you have a previous openocd still running (check on the debug perspectiv)e close it as welel as any gdb open still leaving here. Any kind of zombie process will prevent any new sucessulf openocd conection to the tagret.

Can you get access to the same target on sameusb port with the stlink utility ?
