It enables users to easily create, develop, and debug Zephyr applications.

No, it can be connected with wires, but not like a shield. Look at the Nucleo boards for Arduino compatability - http://www.st.com/web/catalog/tools/FM116/SC959/SS1532/LN1847?sc=stm32nucleo
