System Workbench for STM32

compiling date/time

Hello,

I am using sw4stm32 for my stm32 controller. I would like to add compiling date/time into my output file (.hex or .bin). for example: I compile the program on 2022.Jan.12.1:18PM, so .hex or .bin file name should include projectname_20220112_118pm.hex or projectname_20220112_118pm.bin.

Does anybody know how to do it?

Regards,

Yang

Hi Yang,

You can do that by changing the artifact name.

1- Right-click on your project to go to the Properties page
2- Go to C/C++ Build > Setttings then select the “Build Artifact” tab
3- Change the “Artifact name” into ${ProjName}_${current_date}

Not sure it will set the “pm” “am”, this might depends on your system.

Hope it answers your question.

Thank you for your reply. it works perfectly

I have another question, In the program, I use DATE and TIME to figure about the compiling date/time. sometimes, I found these two macro doesn’t update. Is it possible to pass this current_date to DATE and TIME.

and also I want to define some MACRO for my program, for example, like program name, version, and so, then I can get them from my program.

thank you again.

Hello,

I am trying to use TIME to get complied time, however, sometimes, I found TIME doesn’t update even current time is changed when I compile the project. Anybody know how to fix it?

Thanks
