System Workbench for STM32

How to a .project from a STM32Cube?

Within the folder STM32Cube_FW_F7_V1.14.0/Projects/STM32F7508-DISCO/Examples/LTDC/LTDC_Display_1Layer/SW4STM32/STM32F7508-DISCO
lies a .project file.
As my first complex example for SW4STM32, I clicked on it, compiled with no errors, ran it and although something was happening on the LCD screen, it was a jumbled mess. I assumed that since the project was created for exactly the board/compiler/etc. that I was using, everything would work. I am using Eclipse 4.6.3 and I downloaded SW4STM32 a month or two ago.
What did I do wrong? I am new to this system.
Thanks.

Hi,

I did test the example on my board and I have the same messy display as you. I also tried an example project for the STM32F746G-DISCO and it works fine.

Look like the code for the STM32F7508-DISCO is not working due the small internal flash (64Kb) and the size of the image to display on the LCD. I think they wanted to solve that by putting the application on the external Quad SPI flash memory (16Mb). I’m not expert on this subject, but perhaps their is some synchronization/clock configuration issues to access on this memory.

Sorry not being able to help you more.
Maybe you could find information on ST forum.

Kevin
