System Workbench for STM32

uninstall system workbench for STM32 for dummies

Hi. Sorry to bother you all.

I would be really grateful if someone could help me.
Please also bare in mind, I am not a programmer, so am not particularly adept when it comes to anything to do with programming, I am even very adept when it comes to using command line console etc.

OK. Please let me explain the problem I am having.

Some time ago, I rather foolishly installed system workbench STM32 on a netbook which came with only 32 GB HD memory for the system software and apps.

I didn’t realise at the time of buying, which was around the time that Windows 10 first came out, that Windows 10 itself took up a high percentage of the 32 GB HD (max).

OK. ,so when I first brought the netbook, I installed system workbench STM32, as I planned to use it to learn C or C++ while learning to write for embedded devices.

Now, system workbench STM32 takes up a bit of the HD and in all fairness, isn’t that much in normal terms when using a normal computer.

However the netbook isn’t normal. Its very restricted. And thus it didn’t take long for the hd to get filled up, and now the notebook is struggling to work because the system software with all its updates takes up all the space.

I have tried to uninstall the software, but have had problems. All that happens when I do, is a black console comes up, tells me to wait for a few seconds, a few seconds count down 3, 2, 1 etc.
and then the console closes with nothing actually uninstalling.

Now, I have no idea what to do.
I would be really grateful for any guidance.
Thanks
Kind regards

Hi,

If the uninstaller does not work, you can remove System Workbench manually by deleting the following folders :
${INSTALLATION_DIR}/SystemWorkbench (by default C:/Ac6/SystemWorkbench)
${USER_HOME}/APPDATA/Roaming/Ac6 (by default C:/Users/username/APPDATA/Roaming/Ac6 - APPDATA is Windows hidden folder)
And delete the shortcuts if created

Hope it helps,
Kevin.

Hi Kevin,
Thanks for replying to my post and thanks for your advice.
I shall give that a go.
I shall return and let you know (so as to give info for anyone else)
cheers
