SW4STM32 and SW4Linux fully supports the STM32MP1 asymmetric multicore Cortex/A7+M4 MPUs

With System Workbench for Linux, Embedded Linux on the STM32MP1 family of MPUs from ST was never as simple to build and maintain, even for newcomers in the Linux world. And, if you install System Workbench for Linux in System Workbench for STM32 you can seamlessly develop and debug asymmetric applications running partly on Linux, partly on the Cortex-M4.

Firmware Processs Installation Issue

Hello everyone!

I’m using System Workbench for an STM32 F767ZI board. When I’m creating a new C project, I try to “Download target firmware” (Hardware Abstraction Layer (Cube HAL) ), but a window appears saying >

I’ve already read other topics talking about my problem on this beautiful site, but unfortunately nothing was useful for my situation... I really don’t know what would i have to do, I’ve never used this software before. Please, help me.

Thank you so much.
Lorenzo.

Sorry, there was a problem in the message I wrote before. I write it again:

” ... but a window appears saying ” Not able to establish connection to remote host ! Have you ever tried to revisit network connections preferences settings ? ” ... ”

Hello Lorenzo,

Please have a look to attached snapshot .. if helping.
If not, please could you help me sharing your current Operating system (windows, mac, ... ?) and System Workbench for STM32 release number ?

Hi cartu38! Thank you so much for your reply!

I have a Windows 8 OS 64 bits, while the System Workbench I’ve installed is the Version number 1.15.0.201708311556 ( I try to attach a snapshot, for details) .

I’ve followed your instructions contained in your png file: unfortunately, the “Remote firmware repository connection test” returns me ” Connection state: FAILED ” ... I’m not sure, but probably I have to change some settings in the ” Network connections ” window, but I don’t know what modifications I have to do... However I don’t have any problem with normal internet connection.

Cordially.
Lorenzo

Lorenzo,

Thanks for quick feedback.

Yes having ” Connection state: FAILED ” means System Workbench (would say first guess even more Eclipse) is not able to go thru our proxy.
Clue is “Network connections”.

Just to confirm “Network connections” issue (as I’m not sure about what’s behind your statement “I don’t have any problem with normal internet connection”), are you able within Eclipse to get some market place data (Help > Eclipse Market Place) ?

Br,
Vincent

I’ve never noticed before this kind of error: yes, I have problems with Eclipse Marketplace (I’m sending another snapshot for details).

In my previous statement, I said that I have no problem with a simple connection to the web, through a browser like Chrome, etc... But I really haven’t noticed before that I have a problem with internet connection within Eclipse...

So, probably do I have to specify a specific proxy to connect to the Workbench available software?

Hello,

Yes network connections settings is the clue. Let’s play with “Active Provider” combo box. You may have “Direct” selection today, let’s try “Manual” one setting proper proxy setups at least thinking HTTP part (HTTPS is not mandatory thinking STM32 stuff but may help market place and most probably proxy settings are same as HTTP ones)

Ok, perfect: I’ve changed to “Manual” the Active Provider inside the Network Connections window.

Now it asks me to set Host, Port and maybe also an Authentication, for the HTTP part: may I also ask you how can I proceed with this settings? Is there a specific settings I have to enter? I’m really ignorant about this, I’m so sorry...

Thank you,
Lorenzo

Ok, perfect.

I really thank you so much for all your explanations and I apologize with you, ‘cause I asked you too many questions before...

Br,
Lorenzo

SOLVED! For those of you who will have my same problem: I didn’t manage to set the correct proxies within the “Network Connections” settings of STM32 Workbench, but I decided to download all the firmwares simply using the Ethernet connection and everything has been installed well.
