System Workbench for STM32

Need advice on installation

I am trying out the STM32F100 discovery board as my intro to ARM. Everything I read seems to be geared for Linux. I found (somewhat outdated but still relevant) ebook with great examples, it also uses Linux. Plus developers at my job are developing for the ARM in Linux so I went with that. So Linux I went.

I need some advice;

Should I remove gcc arm eabi from my Ubuntu in order to use Software Workbench??
Should I just ditch Ubuntu and move on to windows?
What is the easiest path here?

Hi,

On Linux (and especially Ubuntu) you just have to install the Linux versio of System Workbench for STM32; you don’t have to uninstall anything: it will use the toolchain it install itself.

Just follow the installation instructions on the web site and you should be up and running.
