Cant install system workbench for STM32 Posted by Eloylopez on 2017-04-18 10:14 Im trying to install system workbench for STM32 on my laptop but i cant, the instalator give to my DPInst.exe 64 bit error. SO. windows 8.1 64 bits. Anybody know how solve this error?
Posted by ramtron@ramtron.eu on 2017-04-26 12:28 I had the same problem, I use “dpinst_amd64.exe” to install the STLink driver. The debuger seems to work but then goes wrong. The OpenOCD says “Error: jtag status contains invalid mode value - communication failure”. I think the problem is WIN 8.1 if you use a laptop with WIN 10 the system works smoothly.
Posted by Rengel on 2017-06-26 19:50 Same to me, tried to install it on a win 7 pro and a win 10 pro system both 64-bit versions. On both systems the same error message - you have to use the 64-bit version of DPINST.exe ... when it tries to install st-link/2-1 Driver - very anoying.
Posted by jLn_38 on 2017-06-27 10:08 This can happen when STLink installer fails to determine the architecture. STMicroelectronics fixed this a couple a weeks ago, it will be released with System Workbench with version 2.1. Waiting for the correction you should be able to install STLink driver manually: go to SW_INSTALL_DIR/STLinkUSBDriver and run dpinst_amd64.exe or dpinst_x86.exe.
Posted by pradeep1kmr on 2020-03-18 20:38 Hi I am using windows 8.1 64 bit. I tried installing install_sw4stm32_win_64bits-v2.9.exe file but it starts the command prompt after that it ends automatically. I am not getting further installation window.
