System Workbench for STM32

No I/O-Register view in debugging mode

Hello community,

when i debug a projekt with STM32F103VE i can not see the I/O-Register view and get the error report: No CMSIS-SVD schema for this target. Pressing the refresh butten dosnt resolve the problem.

I use newest verions of CubeMX and SW4STM32 and a jLink-Debugger. The SVD-file are in ...\Ac6\SystemWorkbench\plugins\fr.ac6.mcu.ide_1.10.0.201607251855\resources\cmsis.

A few days before i can see the I/O-Registers in debug mode. Then they disappeare but pressing the refresh butten bring the view back.
Now they disappeare again, but the refresh button has no effect.

This error was some times reportet here, but no other solution was found.

Does anybody has an idea to solve the problem?

Leo

Hello,

First, can you do the update to v1.11.0 because you’re on 1.10.
To do so, menu Help => Check For Updates

But i doubt it will solve this issue.

Can you tell which exact device you’ve chosen ?
STM32F103VETx or STM32F103VEHx ?
Both use the same svd file.

I just tried a custom board with a STM32F103VETx and STlink V2 and did a HAL project and i could see the Peripheral I/O reg window without issue.

On which OS are you working ? Windows or Linux or Mac OS ? And which OS version ?

Can you try to exit the SW4STM32 software and relaunch it and relaunch the debug to see if it found the file again.

Rgds,
Laurent

Also, please, can tell us what is inside the 3 combo boxes of the Project Properties => “C/C++ Build” => “Settings” => “Target” tab ?
You should have the STM32F1 then STM32F103VETHx and then your board name.
Is the board name empty ?

Rgds,
Laurent

Hello Laurent,

thanks for your fast response.

I will update to v1.11.0 but i even think it is not the solution.

My devise is STM32F103VET6 and in “C/C++ Buid” the same target (STM32F103Tx) is specified. The board name is the projekt name. This i have checked before.
I remember, as you mention the operating system, the issue appeared in the time Windows10 was automaticaly updated. After the last Windows-Updates i had some problems with programs too. Perhaps the update has broken conections?
My path to SW4STM32 begins with: C:\Prog\Ac6\SystemWorkbench... and is so far not the usual path, may be this is a other posibility.

Relaunch the program, even after shut down the computer, dosnt solve the problem.

In the next hour i check for updates un do this. Should this solve the problem, i post it.

Leo

Interesting,

update check says, i am up to date. No new version for OpenSTM32 IDE.
Verion 1.11.0 ist not avalable for me.

But i even think, this is not the problem, becouse some days before i was able to see I/O-Registers in debug mode.
Something must have changed in configuration to my opinion.

Thanks for furter help.

Leo

Ok, your network connection is maybe broken.

If you had other issues after your windows update, i suggest you reinstall SW4STM32 (v1.8.0) and Check for updates to upgrade to v1.11.0.

Maybe it will then work again as before.

Rgds,
Laurent

Thanks,

i will try this and give you a recall.

Leo
