FreeRTOS port for STM32F4

I was able to get a project up and running on bare-metal with eclipse. When I added the FreeRTOS library, code didn’t compile. Is there a plan to support FreeRTOS in the near future?

-Rup

What is exactly your problem, i mean what is the compiler output?, for STM32F4 microcontroller using GNU ARM, which is the compiler used by this IDE there are a functional port, is not necesary an official support from AC6.

you only need to copy the right files and set the right directories for the header files

tell memore so i can help you

FreeRTOS will run on any Cortex-M device using GCC, Keil, IAR or Tasking compilers. I don’t think it is for the IDE to ‘support’ FreeRTOS as FreeRTOS builds with 18 different tool chains (not just Cortex) that I know of - although there are FreeRTOS kernel aware plug-in and more recently a configuration file editor plug-in that you can install.

As you have not said what the compiler error was there is no way I can assist you directly, but here are some links that might help, and if your issue is building FreeRTOS, rather than using the IDE, the FreeRTOS support forum might be a good place to ask the question.

As already said FreeRTOS run on any Cortex-M board. However, to compile cleanly, you may have to customize a few files, and especially the FreeRTOSConfig.h file, to fit your needs.

We plan to offer various FreeRTOS support features in the IDE in the future, including a configuration file editor, so stay tuned: it will be announced in the Announcment forum when available.

Thanks for the response. Sorry it was just my project settings that didn’t have the right CM4_F files . I am able to compile freertos now. Thanks!
