Forum: System Workbench for STM32

Workbench download & Antivirus

Hi-

I’ve downloaded the latest STM32 workbench release using the Windows 64-bit installer.
When I did that my anti-virus (Avast) flagged a suspicious file and put it in quarantine :
The file is “ac6_stm32flash.exe” and the suspected virus is: Win32:Evo-gensusp.
Anything to be concerned about ? Or assuringly a false positive from the anti-virus ?

Side-question: What is the maturity of the Linux version of the workbench compared to the Windows release ?

Thanks

Hi Xavier,

The ac6_stm32flash.exe is a legitimate file; I don’t know why Avast flag it but it must come from its heuristics.
Anyway, this file is currently not used so you can safely leave it quarantined if you prefer.

Regarding the Linux version, it is currently in beta but is as stable as the Windows version, just waiting for formal approval, something that should occur shortly now.
