SW4STM32 and SW4Linux fully supports the STM32MP1 asymmetric multicore Cortex/A7+M4 MPUs

With System Workbench for Linux, Embedded Linux on the STM32MP1 family of MPUs from ST was never as simple to build and maintain, even for newcomers in the Linux world. And, if you install System Workbench for Linux in System Workbench for STM32 you can seamlessly develop and debug asymmetric applications running partly on Linux, partly on the Cortex-M4.
You can get more information from the ac6-tools website and download (registration required) various documents highlighting:

SWSTM32 Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS Eclipse Executable Issue

When I install SWSTM32 using the command line interface everything completes properly, but when I go to the folder the eclipse file is just a text file not an executable like I see in the videos on youtube. Do I need to install something else in order to have the eclipse file register as an executable?

Hi,

I think Ubuntu has change the default behavior on executable text file.

Go to the Eclipse folder, then on top-left (on the Activities bar), click on Files > Preferencies.
On the Behavior tab, Executable Text Files, select “Run them” instead of “Display them”.

Hope it works for you too.

Thank you Kevin that worked perfectly.

“videos on youtube” Links? I’m just getting ready to install for the incoming MP1 Discovery 2 board. I know it runs OpenSTLinux (yocto) but on my Windows 10 I’m trying to setup VM with Ubuntu 18.04.
Thanks
