(Linux version) Opening « Properties > Builder Settings » makes Workbench hang

Hi-
I have a project compiled with gcc under Linux, based on my own custom Makefile - and I have little Eclipse experience.
I want to import this project into the STM32 Workbench with as few changes as possible, re-using the Makefile.
For that, I create an empty Makefile project and import my original directories and files.
Then I right-click on the project and open the Properties menu, and I try to open tab “Builder Settings” (to specify that I want to use my own makefile). However when I do this the Workbench hangs indefinitely, all I can do is close the window and quit.
Any suggestion ?
My STM32 Workbench installation is v1.0.0.201410081102, with Eclipse Luna 4.4.2, under LINUX Mint.

Hi,

Firstly, can you update System Workbench ? It might fix some issues.

Did System Workbench freeze when you open the C/C++ Build > Builder Settings page or when you are validating the changes ?

If your Makefile is in the project root directory, you don’t need to do any change. I suppose you only modified the build location. Can you attach a screenshot for me to reproduce your problem ?

By the way, if your project contains a lot of files, the indexer might be scanning all the files to enable the auto-completion and indexing (which could freeze the GUI). Try disabling the indexer (select your project > Properties > C/C++ General > Indexer, uncheck “Enable indexer”, then Apply).
