Can SW Debug/ST-Link issue hw reset

Hi I’ve got a F429-Disco board and build as I described previously.
Now on debugging, it starts running normally, and/or gets stuck in the weeds.
I want to reset it from the Debug, and gain control of it again
There is a “reset” icon (and it works in other Eclipses) but its greyed out with AC6.
I’m wondering is there away of issuing a reset to the target(F429-DISCO throuh the ST-Link)? and getting control.

The best I can do is put a break point at the 1st line of main() and then manually reset the target, and I gain control if it hits the break point.

Not sure if this applies to you but I’ve occassionally used the STM32 ST-Link Utility to reset the hadware (I sometimes develop remotely through VNC to my home machine that is connected to my disco board).

Also, I use IWDG (independent watchdog) to reset the board when it becomes unresponsive. If you can set them it with a simple timer early enough in your main(), this might save you some frustration. Basic concept is your code has to reset the IWDG periodically or else the handler will reboot.

Hi yes I am using AC6 SWstm32/Eclipse with the GDB debugger, which connects to the ST-Link.
It seems to me that the reset button on the Debug is not implemented. When using the Freescale KDS3 this button was implemented :-)
So I was just wondering if I was missing something.
